Postecoglou nearing departure after poor Spurs hand Chelsea a ‘catalyst’ with £5m Sancho decision enticing

Ange Postecoglou appears to be in a dire situation, as the Europa League rescue seems improbable following Spurs’ absence against Chelsea, who ought to cover the costs for sending Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United...  Chelsea's lackluster display against Arsenal raised doubts about their desire to win, as Enzo Maresca's team seemingly let their London competitors secure a comfortable victory.  This poor performance resulted in Chelsea having the same points total as Manchester United since their pursuit of the Premier League title began to fade in mid-December.  During this period, Spurs have fared even worse since only Championship-bound Southampton, Leicester City, and Ipswich Town have garnered fewer points in 2025 than Postecoglou’s team in the Premier League.  Tottenham’s injury issues are a relevant factor, but even their makeshift squad has significantly underachieved and failed to show up in far too many matches this season.  Their injury concerns h...

‘Smirking’ Carragher told to ‘f*** off’ by Chelsea legend in ten F-bomb tirade over AFCON disrespect

Jamie Carragher can "get lost" after showing disrespect towards the Africa Cup of Nations, says ex-Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, who is "extremely furious" about the Sky Sports commentator’s "arrogant and irritating grin".

Carragher ignited discussion by stating that the Africa Cup of Nations should not be seen as an influencing factor when evaluating player accomplishments in the race for the Ballon d’Or as he

As a result, Carragher referred to Rio Ferdinand as a “clown” for “playing to the gallery” after the Manchester United icon asserted he was showing disrespect to the tournament.

Now Mikel – who claimed AFCON in 2013 and was a runner-up on two occasions – has joined Ferdinand, Daniel Sturridge, Micah Richards, and others in challenging Carragher’s opinions, expressing himself more forcefully than most.

During his appearance on The Obi One Podcast, Mikel remarked: “What he said is incredibly disrespectful, especially considering he has never won any significant international tournament with England.”

"His assertion was completely incorrect." I wish he would come forward and deliver a profound apology, as he owes an apology to people globally. It was foolish to show disrespect towards such a fantastic tournament.

"If you believe the Premier League would be what it is now solely with English players, you’re having a laugh, mate."

“The grin on his face, that cocky f***ing grin to disregard… That grin on his face is precisely what gave me a clue.” There are individuals attempting to correct you, while you counter by attacking everyone else and undermining this fantastic tournament.

"The man talks a lot on TV, has never won the Premier League, analyzes teams, and insists they must win the Premier League."

"You’ve never won it, so you have no idea what it requires to win the f***ing Premier League, and you don’t understand what it takes to succeed with your national team." You can't undermine such a fantastic, fantastic tournament. Individuals in Africa sacrifice their lives for the Africa Cup of Nations.

“I’m so f***ing furious, I’m so f***ing furious, he dedicated so many years to Liverpool, and he didn’t win the f***ing Premier League.” He remains there week after week, instructing and guiding individuals on how to achieve victory in the Premier League. You have not obtained it.

“Africans see you on the weekend, and you just sit there, speak out, and undermine the entire f***ing African continent, claiming your African Nations tournament is worthless.” It has no worth since it’s neither the Euros nor the Copa America. He can go away. We understand in Africa what we contribute to the Premier League.

“If you secured the Euros with England, I could grasp that; if you triumphed in a significant tournament with England, I could comprehend that.” You didn't win anything with England. Forget it all. “And you attempt to undermine the tournament that I triumphed in, sacrificing blood and tears for?”
