Arsenal's defender Gabriel Magalhaes will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury that necessitates surgery, confirmed the Premier League team.  The Gunners player suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of their 2-1 win against Fulham in the Premier League on Tuesday night.  Gabriel will now be absent for the remainder of the Premier League season, as Arsenal also strives for the Champions League title with a two-legged quarter-final against Real Madrid starting next week.  In response to the injury following the game, Arteta informed reporters: “Concerned because he always wants to stay on and he had to leave."  "He's uncertain about its size and what it truly is, but he sensed he couldn't go on."  When questioned about Gabriel's fitness for the Champions League match against Real Madrid next week, Arteta responded: “It depends; there’s a week ahead, but given how he usually is… challenging.”  Transfer specialist Fab...

Chelsea announce loan departure of overlooked £17m acquisition

• Deivid Washington has finished a loan transfer from Chelsea.

• Young forward makes a comeback to the Brazilian club Santos.

• Agreement features possibility for permanent move.

Chelsea have announced the exit of forward Deivid Washington, who has gone back to Santos on a temporary loan agreement.

Nineteen-year-old Washington signed with Chelsea in the summer of 2023 for approximately £17m after showing promise in Santos' youth system and breaking into the senior team in the preceding months, yet his career at Stamford Bridge did not advance.

Washington was a consistent player for Chelsea's Under-21 team but only made three senior appearances totaling 25 minutes, with none occurring this season.

A return loan to Santos was planned weeks ago, with Chelsea reserving an overseas loan position in expectation of finalizing the transfer. The Brazilian transfer window stays open until the end of this month, indicating there was no urgency to finalize a deal.

In their announcement regarding the transfer, Santos revealed that they hold an option to permanently sign Washington once his loan agreement concludes on December 31, 2025.

The Athletic reports that there's a break clause in the loan agreement that Chelsea can activate this summer. Santos have not settled a loan fee but will pay the full wages of the striker.

In 2023, Washington was one of two young Brazilian forwards who moved from Santos to Chelsea. Winger Angelo came in for an alleged £13m but, following a fruitful loan with Strasbourg, was sold to Al Nassr for £19m only a year later.
