Arsenal supporters charged with ‘arrogant self-importance’ and far worse allegations

Are Arsenal supporters the most unbearable? That is the hypothesis. Liverpool sporting a ‘hollow crown’ has not been well-received.  Now regarding Real Madrid…  My forecast was that the sole way this Arsenal team could defeat Real Madrid across two matches was to secure victory in the first and remain solid in the second.  This is due to our inability to dismantle a team that parks the bus, which will happen at the Bernabeu if we drop the first leg. Especially not a second game at their location. I honestly can’t envision us pulling off a smash and grab like Thierry did previously.  I believe a draw in the first leg has a similar impact, as they'd be clever at home and wait for an opportunity to score.  Nevertheless, following tonight, the 'keeping it tight' aspect is in shambles with the London Colney treatment room bustling once more (does each squad member have their own table?). I was counting on Saliba and Gabriel to understand their French and Brazilian of...

Borussia Dortmund's assessment of Chelsea target disclosed

• Chelsea connected to a potential transfer for Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens in January.

• Bayern Munich was also considered a possible destination for the 20-year-old.

• Bundesliga heavyweights anticipated to receive summer inquiries.

According to a report, Borussia Dortmund may consider selling Chelsea and Bayern Munich target Jamie Gittens this summer, but only if a prospective buyer offers at least €80m.

The 20-year-old was a regular feature in gossip columns throughout the January transfer window, yet it never seemed probable that Dortmund would consider a sale during the season.

Gittens has taken a comparable career trajectory to Jadon Sancho, departing Manchester City early to enhance his chances of playing consistent first-team football, and has been rewarded this season by becoming a key player for Dortmund.

A tally of 11 goals in 34 matches in all competitions signifies a decent, if not particularly extraordinary, season for a Dortmund team that has faced challenges throughout the 2024/25 season. Caught off guard in the Bundesliga's mid-table, Dortmund recently dismissed head coach Nuri Sahin to hire Niko Kovac, though they are currently performing well in the Champions League, securing a 3-0 victory in the first leg of their knockout play-off against Sporting CP.

Gittens has performed admirably in both tournaments, having connections to Chelsea, Bayern, and Manchester United at one point. German outlet BILD reports that Dortmund might need to sell a key player to compensate for anticipated financial losses from not qualifying for the upcoming Champions League.

Dortmund is ready to adopt a strong position on Gittens' valuation, but a potential transfer is expected to exceed €80m (£66.7m) and could reach as high as €100m (£83.4m). This could increase the chances of a move for teammate Karim Adeyemi, who was targeted by Napoli in January, as he's valued at approximately half that amount.

Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel is the third important player mentioned in the report – he has also attracted interest from the Premier League following a series of outstanding performances in goal.

What Gittens' favored choice might be is anyone's speculation, yet he has connections to Chelsea due to his youth career there. The Blues have definitely demonstrated a desire to invest heavily in the past and continue seeking attacking additions, even after acquiring Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho during the summer.

Bayern have also spent heavily, acquiring Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for €100m, and they are known for signing the top players from their domestic competitors.
