Arsenal's defender Gabriel Magalhaes will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury that necessitates surgery, confirmed the Premier League team.  The Gunners player suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of their 2-1 win against Fulham in the Premier League on Tuesday night.  Gabriel will now be absent for the remainder of the Premier League season, as Arsenal also strives for the Champions League title with a two-legged quarter-final against Real Madrid starting next week.  In response to the injury following the game, Arteta informed reporters: “Concerned because he always wants to stay on and he had to leave."  "He's uncertain about its size and what it truly is, but he sensed he couldn't go on."  When questioned about Gabriel's fitness for the Champions League match against Real Madrid next week, Arteta responded: “It depends; there’s a week ahead, but given how he usually is… challenging.”  Transfer specialist Fab...

Pedri signs a new long-term contract with Barcelona as more extensions are planned.

The midfielder for Barcelona, Pedri, has formally committed to a new five-and-a-half-year deal with the Catalan powerhouse.

In September 2019, the Spanish schemer left his childhood team, Las Palmas, to join Barcelona. Pedri has been a Blaugrana supporter since infancy, even though he was raised in Tenerife, which is more than 1,500 miles from Camp Nou.

The midfielder's grandfather established the Pena Barcelonista de Tenerife-Tegueste, among the earliest official Barcelona fan clubs in the Canary Islands, and his father would often play videos of the iconic Danish midfielder Michael Laudrup (prior to his time at Real Madrid, naturally).

There has been little uncertainty that Pedri would be lured away from Catalonia, and the club has now officially confirmed his new contract until 30 June 2030.

As Barcelona deals with the long list of players whose contracts are about to expire over the next 18 months, Pedri's statement follows Ronald Araujo's confirmation one week earlier that he would remain at the club until 2031. The Spanish team is expected to reach agreements for Gavi (whose contract expires in 2026), Inigo Martinez (2025), and Lamine Yamal (2026), as Fabrizio Romano explained.

Although Yamal has previously stated that he intends to sign a new contract with Barcelona this year, the team is eager to keep the teenager's pay low to prevent financial difficulties in the weeks ahead.

Robert Lewandowski, an aging forward, will also be a free agency in 2026, although he is not expected to sign a new contract. The Pole, however, has no plans to leave the team this summer.
