Ange Postecoglou appears to be in a dire situation, as the Europa League rescue seems improbable following Spurs’ absence against Chelsea, who ought to cover the costs for sending Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United...  Chelsea's lackluster display against Arsenal raised doubts about their desire to win, as Enzo Maresca's team seemingly let their London competitors secure a comfortable victory.  This poor performance resulted in Chelsea having the same points total as Manchester United since their pursuit of the Premier League title began to fade in mid-December.  During this period, Spurs have fared even worse since only Championship-bound Southampton, Leicester City, and Ipswich Town have garnered fewer points in 2025 than Postecoglou’s team in the Premier League.  Tottenham’s injury issues are a relevant factor, but even their makeshift squad has significantly underachieved and failed to show up in far too many matches this season.  Their injury concerns h...

Arne Slot provides an update on Joe Gomez's injury status.

Joe Gomez, a defender for Liverpool, is not expected to make a full recovery from his hamstring injury, according to manager Arne Slot.

Gomez was initially predicted to miss "a few weeks" after limping out of the team's 5-0 victory over West Ham United on December 29. This raised concerns about a potential comeback during Tuesday's match with a surprise bonus. Nottingham Forest

"Quite far," a disgruntled Slot acknowledged when asked how far away Gomez is from making a comeback. Darwin [Nunez] has been suspended, and he is undoubtedly not yet a member of the team. It is they that we will miss tomorrow.

Slot promised not to take Nuno Espirito Santo's team lightly in their quest for retribution, as Forest is the only team in the Premier League this season to have defeated Liverpool.

Slot thought back on the loss and said, "They demonstrated in hindsight what a strong team they are." "Virgil [van Dijk], who played 100 home games and lost only once, usually loses when Liverpool loses at home.

"It was difficult for me to accept losing that day. In retrospect and given their current standing in the league, it might not come as a huge surprise. They brought in the winger who performed so well and had a solid game plan.

You can judge the table best midway through the season, as I've always maintained, and that time has come. Forest is undoubtedly a team that competes with us and the other teams if they are on par with us, Arsenal, Chelsea, [Manchester] City, and everyone else.

"If you consider how they play, their performances, and their outcomes, they deserve to be regarded in this manner. Getting a result tomorrow is going to be a very tough task."
